Good habits are good for you

Yes, our life is made up of many habits. Our present is a set of habits put together over the years and our future will be made up of the habits that we will begin to develop from this moment on.

But what are the habits that are good for us and that make us make the most of our potential?

Actually there are many of them. But over time I have learned that there are some really effective ones to make the most of our days and our time, and be more productive for ourselves and for those around us.

If you are curious to know which habits can really improve your life, read on.

Habit number 1:Wake up early

Of course, early is always very relative, for those who usually wake up at noon it could be 10AM, but we are talking about well-being and getting up when the sun is almost in the Yin phase, certainly it does not help our body. If we refer to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the best time to get up is from 5 to 7 in the morning. I understand that this may seem a bit extreme. Maybe the alarm clock at 6.50 is not so hard but at 5 it starts to be challenging. The ideal would be to wake up in time to carry out all our morning habits and have time to prepare for daily activities. Then each of us should set the alarm in order to be able to make the most of the early hours of the day.

This is consequently personal. For example, if I leave the house to go to work at 10 in the morning, it will be enough to get up at 8 to be able to carry out the habits to start the day well.

If, on the other hand, I have to go out at 8 to take the children to school, I will set the alarm at least 2 hours earlier, at 6AM.

I know that some might argue that taking hours of sleep away from our person could then be counterproductive during the day, especially for those who have things to do late at night, but believe me that is not the case, and you can experience it on yourself , just by trying to practice these habits.

Furthermore, waking up when the whole family is still asleep, especially the children, allows you to dedicate that time only to you, the perfect HOLY HOUR which will give you a charge of energy that you will carry around throughout the day.

Another important thing when you wake up is to drink. Never forget to hydrate yourself after the night.

Habit number 2: Move

Have you ever thought about how your body would react if you just wake up to exercise? No? Well try it. Although the muscular system as soon as you wake up is a little stiff from the night you hardly moved a muscle, exercising will give you a boost that few other things could do.

Decide in advance what kind of activity you want to do, a run in the park, some yoga, a good walk with your four-legged friend or even a good sweat with a cardio workout. Choose the activity you like best, it reflects you, and specially you feel confortable in doing at that moment. Never force your body. Many times I have woken up with the idea of doing cardio and not being able to move. In that case, choose activities like a lighter yoga, the 5 Tibetan rites, or the Makko-Ho; simple stretching exercises are perfect for starting the day in a really energetically super effective way.

The night before prepare the gymnastic or yoga outfit, the mat, or the sneakers.

The important thing is that it is the first thing you do as soon as you wake up. After obviously rinsing your face with a nice handful of fresh water and drinking a nice glass of water. Indeed, better 2.

You decide how much time to dedicate to the activity. 10 minutes or an hour, the important thing is that it is constant and it is done every day.

Habit number 3: Stop

Once you have started spinning your energy the right way, stop.

Dedicate time for personal care, a good shower, a good breakfast, and even a simple self-massage to recover those treatments that we almost never have for ourselves during the day, being too busy with the thousand daily activities that suck us into a vortex of madness.

A very useful activity to stop is meditation. It takes very little to connect with our center. Every day, you can try to increase your concentration simply by paying attention to your breath for even just 10 minutes. A study by the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health of the University College of London has shown that the practice of Meditation and Mindfulness via smartphone App are excellent for relieving work stress, improving psychological well-being and reducing blood pressure. The main rule, however, is always the same: Constance! Otherwise it wouldn’t be a habit.

Habit number 4: Training and personal growth

Take some time to train yourself. Read a few pages of a book, or much simpler for example, while preparing breakfast for the family, listen a podcast or an audiobook, on what you prefer, which can be for example a course on seasonal aromatic plants, on ways to deal with children, about personal growth in general, or anything else that puts you in a good mood and makes you grow a little bit.

Think about what you would like to learn new that day, what your mind wants to welcome, and indulge yourself in the sea of information that we all have at our fingertips now.

Can you believe it?

Your day has not started yet and you have already given so much to yourself that now you can only expect wonders from this day.

Now all that remains is to be goal-centered and dedicate yourself to these activities day after day and make them yours habits daily.

A last thing before closing:

Think about the activities you want to adopt in the morning, and in the evening, as a habit, dedicate yourself to prepare everything you will need to have your well-being at hand in a few simple steps, from tidying up the house, to the preparation of clothes to wear the next day, to the children’s backpack for school (obviously with the complicity of the children themselves). Leave no obstacles between you and your well-being.

Happiness is really one step away.
